About Us

The former basketball league Monocacy Youth Basketball Association (MYBA) is now a subsidiary of Metroball Frederick Assault, which in turn formed the new name Metroball Youth Basketball Association (MYBA). The league is based out of Frederick County consisting of local youth organizations and private schools  (i.e Ballenger Creek Rec, Urbana Rec, Catoctin Rec, FSK, Woodsboro, etc). MYBA and Metroball Frederick Assault is ran by President Tre Roper a Frederick County resident, Frederick County Firefighter, and local AAU coach. Along with President Roper on the board are Vice President Ethan Stewart (BCRC), Treasurer Joe Parisi (URC), Administrator Yvonne Rozman (Mt. Aetna), and Director of Referees, Curtis Crews. Although a name change has occurred “the long standing community based allegiance” has not changed. It’s actually improved as MYBA is now able to be more involved in the community by hosting free clinics, basketball camps, community outreach events, etc. We provide local kids the opportunity to play AAU for the Adidas sponsored Metroball Frederick Assault on the Adidas Gold Gauntlet.
