About Us

MYBA Celebrates Growth, Community Impact, and Competitive Basketball!

It’s been two exciting years since the former Monocacy Youth Basketball Association (MYBA) officially became a part of Metroball Frederick Assault, forming what is now known as the Metroball Youth Basketball Association (MYBA).

Since the merger, MYBA has solidified its role as a cornerstone of youth basketball in Frederick County—uniting local recreational programs and private schools including Ballenger Creek Rec, Urbana Rec, Catoctin Rec, FSK, Woodsboro, and more.

Led by President Tre Roper—a Frederick County firefighter, AAU coach, and dedicated community leader—MYBA continues to thrive with the support of a strong leadership team:

  • Vice President Ethan Stewart

  • Treasurer Shawna Thompson

  • Administrator Yvonne Rozman

  • Director of Referees Curtis Crews

Over the past two years, MYBA has expanded its impact far beyond the court. From free basketball clinics and youth camps to community outreach events, we’re proud to serve as both a competitive league and a community pillar, which allows our players a direct pathway to elite competition and personal growth.

While our name may have changed, our mission hasn’t. We remain rooted in community, driven by development, and committed to giving every young athlete a chance to grow, compete, and succeed.

Please join us in continued success—on and off the court!
